Graphs FAQ

Below explains how to navigate through the website and interpret WID.world graphs (more coming soon).

Global inequality data are presented in three different ways:

  1. World Page – Compare inequality between countries on an interactive world map
  2. Country Page – Follow the evolution of inequality within countries with user-friendly graphs
  3. Data Page – Download the open-access datasets

1. WORLD PAGE

The world page allows you to compare economic indicators across different countries or world regions.

The image below shows how to select key indicators, add/delete countries on the time series graph (the one at the bottom), switch from a unit to another  (for instance from a currency to another) and switch from an indicator to another (from average per capita value to a national total value).

The image below shows how to add/delete countries on the time series graph (the one at the bottom) from the column of the left hand side, select indicators, export graph/map, download the underlying data of the graph/map and view sources and informations of the underlying series. It also shows how to zoom in/out of the map and change the year of data displayed in the map.
